About me
My name is Tomas Lidström and I am a professional, award winning environment artist. My primary skills are high & low polygon modeling, texturing and lighting. I specialize in the Unreal engine and I am adept in it’s pipeline and editor but I jump at the opportunity to learn new tools. My primary tools for the trade is Maya, Photoshop and Mudbox but I have spent quite a bit of time doing work in 3D studio Max as well.
I spent my youth from 1998 to 2005 making levels for Unreal, Unreal Tournament, Deus Ex and Half Life. I made several singleplayer levels and worked on several modifications. Some were never finished, some did alright. I also co-founded a site dedicated to Unreal singleplayer that lives to this day. It can be found at http://www.unrealsp.org
I am an admin for the biggest #Unrealed channel on IRC, located at irc.quakenet.se (the only one still left?)
2005-2008 in my life took place in Skövde, Sweden, studying Graphics for Game Development at the university of Skövde. It was a fruitful experience where I got alot of contacts and friends that I hold dear to this day.
Between June of 2008 and June of 2009 I worked as an Environment artist at Grin (http://www.grin.se)
I did environment art for Terminator Salvation, Wanted Weapons of Fate and a few unannounced titles before the company, sadly, went down.
Between October of 2009 and September 2010 I worked as a Lighting artist at Rebellion, Oxford. I worked on several titles during my short year there, including Alien versus Predator +DLC, NeverDead and a few unannounced titles.
As of September 2010, I am currently working at People Can fly as a Lighting & Environment Artist.
