I’m BACK.

Yea, suck on it.

New project, I’m working together with a friend who is making a concept and I’m doing it in full glory HD (yea, thats right. HD! I’m keeping up with the catch phrases)-3D. I’m calling it ”Dollylicious” because the concept artists name is Dolores, AKA Dolly and she is just delicious – Hence Dollylicious.

Just a few pictures, a mockup scene that was made a while back and a few work in progress on the building that I started today.

Made a bit more.

Spent like 1-2 hours in the last two days fixing it up a bit. No big progress because of work, but its coming along.

I’m helping Hourneces (www.hourences.com) and the gang with a few art assets for the ”The Ball”-mod for UT3.
Making an Olmec head (google it if you dont know what it is)

Heres the progress from to day. I forgot to take the first few pictures but I started out with a sphere shape. It’s been pretty fun, even though this particular prop feels a bit like character modelling and I havnt made a character for… 2-3 years? And then only because university forced me. It’s pretty cool though and I’m getting the hang of it.
So here it is, about 4 or 5 hours into the process. Ignore the crappy mirroring in the picture, it’s just temp. Once I get this baby into mudbox it’ll look aight.

Spent another few hours gathering references and I think I’m starting to get close to a design I like.
Going to work some more on concepts today…

I’ve spent the better part of today gathering reference material for my next project. I’ve also checked out some new technology-related bits I need to read up on to pull it off AND i’ve written up a High concept document for the project. The High concept document contains a set of goals for the project from a visual standpoint. I will be writing the technical bit a bit further on, once I’ve done some more research in that area.

I will be going through all stages of production on this one, starting with references and documenation, moving on to concepts and finally full blown production. This is a long term project that I estimate will take a year+ to finish once actual production starts.  I’ve just entered first stage of pre-production (references) so don’t expect to see anything any time soon.

I’m not gonna announce anything just yet, just posting that things have been set in motion!

Right, so in the odd chance of anyone actually reading this blog I thought I’d give an update on whats going on.

So as I’ve posted before I’m now working at Grin and it’s really sweet. If you’ve paid attention to the last few posts you’ve noticed I’ve been wrapping up the two previous projects I’ve been working on and updating my portfolio with new pictures.

I got a few ideas for what my next personal projects are going to be but at this point I’m not going to publish anything about the nature of them… Nothing is set in stone at this point but I’ m drifting between 3 or 4 projects. I know I will enter production for sure on at least 2 of them in the future so it’s really only a matter of ”What’s next”.

I’ve started working on some tutorials regarding texturing workflow. It’s nothing fancy at this point and I have no time frame for when they will be complete (if ever) so I wouldn’t hold my breath. Besides, it’s summer. Go out and get a tan or something!

A bunch of university friends of mine are getting into the whole ”Serious games”-thing and one of their first projects is a game for ”Räddningsverket” (Guys that rescue people when they’re in some sort of trouble. Drug-, money- and acne-related trouble not included)

They got a video of it at http://srv.se/templates/UtbKat_Page____23544.aspx?epslanguage=EN and it reawoke my old dream of being a firefighter!

Decided to just call it a day. I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out and as I’ve already stated in previous posts I’ve achieved the goals I set up. I may do more stuff and finish the other sides of it some day…

So I got into a second wave of boo-yaism and figured I might make a whole little environment-render of this thing. The house is pretty much done so now I’m making the surrounding setting. Added a street and a few things. Nothing is uvmapped at this point though. Also moved the camera back so you get to see more of it all. Nothing is final as most of the new geometry is simply placeholder material but still, goes to show where I’m going with it.
